The UWA Medical School is seeking Clinical Skills lecturers for the Division of General Practice. In this position you'll provide tuition, supervision and assessment of junior medical students within the Year 2 program Clinical Preparation teaching. 

You'll be teaching the essential clinical skills of history, examination and clinical reasoning in the Clinical Preparation block of the MD Year 2 program. Teaching methods include small group tutorials with peer examination and simulated patients consultations and seminars.

This teaching block runs from Tuesday, January 28 2020 for 12 weeks. Tutorials are held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at QEII Medical Centre. UWA are seeking registrars who would like to teach tutorials in any of these time slots, with a preference given to those who are available each week. 

Selection criteria:

  • Unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner in Western Australia
  • Experience in clinical practice within the last five years, with a broad general knowledge of history and examination of all body systems
  • Experience as a tutor and/or supervisor of medical students and/or junior doctors. 
  • Effective organisational, communication and negotiation skills.
