Obtain your GP fellowship on WAGPET

To practise independently as a GP in Australia, you need to achieve a Fellowship in general practice.

The RACGP’s new Practice Experience Program (PEP), is a self-directed education program designed to support non-vocationally registered (non-VR) doctors on their journey to RACGP fellowship.

Western Australia General Practice Education and Training (WAGPET) is the sole provider of the PEP for the RACGP in Western Australia. During the program, participants have access to a highly experienced and professional medical educator, who is also a practicing GP and a highly skills program administrator, who will support participant through their PEP.

The PEP has two streams:

PEP Standard Stream

PEP standard stream is designed for non-vocationally registered (non-VR) doctors who don’t hold specialist qualifications or whose comparability assessment has deemed them as non-comparable for the PEP specialist stream.

PEP Specialist Stream

For international medical graduates (IMGs) with overseas specialist qualifications who wish to qualify for Fellowship of the RACGP (FRACGP).

Details regarding PEP eligibility, selection, clinical requirements, FAQs, program deliverables and policies are available on the RACGP website.

All enquiries regarding this program should be directed to the RACGP or Anastasia Limawan.
