Philosophy/Ethos

The Forest Lakes Medical Centre is an Independent, Practitioner owned medical practice.  Dr Hamza Amira opened the practice in Forest Lakes Thornlie in 1997.
Dr Amira’s main interests are in Obstetrics and women's health.  He delivers approximately 300 babies/year.  We run an Asthma and Diabetes clinic within the practice, which is managed by our practice nurse Stella.  We have one full time practice nurse and one part time practice nurse, onsite Pathology and Physiotherapist . The aim of this practice is to,
• Provide quality ongoing care to our patients, their families and the community in general
• Educate our patients on basic disease prevention and management
• Provide a pleasant, friendly work environment for all staff members
• Provide education and training of future Medical Practitioners

Demography of Patients

Our practice services communities from Armadale, Kelmscott, Gosnells, Maddington, Thornlie and Canning Vale in the south through to Lansdale in the north. We have a wide cultural patient base as we have doctors that speak English, Arabic, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kanada, Singlise, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.  We cater for Obstetrics, newborn, through to geriatric patients.

IT Resources

Forest Lakes Medical Centre is a fully computerised practice. All patient notes are computerised. All patient tests are electronically downloaded. We have computerised prescribing and there is internet access in all consulting rooms.
