We are a GP owned practice, currently based in a beautiful old building in Fremantle, near the Fremantle Art Centre and Fremantle Leisure Centre. We are a short walk from the centre of Fremantle and our branch surgery in Fremantle Malls. We have 10-12 full and part-time doctors, 4 part-time nurses, a nurse practitioner, 3 bed treatment room, pathology onsite and wonderful receptionists. We are also only a short walk from Fremantle Hospital as well as many private allied health practices such as physiotherapy, psychology and pharmacy. Our patients range from established Fremantle residents to tourists, backpackers, portworkers and the homeless providing an interesting mix of ages and socioeconomic status, from the worried well to chronic disease management.
We teach medical students from UWA and Notre-Dame Universities as well as supervising GP registrars at all term levels. All of our GPs are vocationally registered and most have a FRACP and are members of the RACGP. Most have further qualifications in addition to their RACGP. Most have further qualifications in addition to their MBBS and FRACGP. Some of our GPs are also examiners for the written and clinical components of the FRACGP exam.
Many of our doctors have previously been rural proceedural GPs and maintain an active interest in minor proceedures, including Implanon and Mirena, antenatal care and surgical assisting as well as special interests in Street Doctor, GPAH, obesity, mental health, nutrition and sexual health.
Our practice regularly competes in the Blackwood Marathon with active runners, swimmers and rowers in the team. Several of our practice team are members of the Bibbulmun Track Foundation as well as yoga enthusiasts. We even have accomplished pianists and flutists amongst us.
