DAHS operates out of a new well equipped and spacious clinic with the equivalent of 3 to 4 full time doctors plus GP Registrars.  DAHS also operates in partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor service Derby base and shares remote clinics with the RFDS.  The only primary medical service in Derby, DAHS is recognised across Australia as a model Aboriginal Health service and has been achieving significant progress in the control of chronic disease.  Registrars working at DAHS are welcomed, well supported by the whole health care team and are part of an environment that fosters education for staff.  There is also the opportunity to carry out clinics in a range of small communities in the region and the opportunity to participate in a wide range of outdoor activities.

An Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service committed to improving Aboriginal health and increasing Aboriginal involvement in the provision of health care for Aboriginal people.

Demography of Patients

DAHS is the only primary care service in Derby and provides a service to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal patients for the town of Derby and a number of surrounding communities including Gibb River Road communities.
