About the practice
Southern Regional Medical Group (SRMG) is a dynamic regional medical practice, focussed on providing high quality integrated care to our patients and our community. We have a strong emphasis on continued learning, not only for medical students and doctors in training, but also for our most accomplished medical practitioners. We hold regular clinical teaching sessions, which are accredited with both RACGP and ACRRM and we have recently pioneered a GP Peer Review process where GP's sit in with a colleague during consultation.
SRMG also has a very strong commitment to education and training where both undergraduates and postgraduates are encouraged to take advantage of the wealth of experience available, both through the clinical setting as well as the GP mentors in a very supportive environmnet. . During the year we have at least 15 medical students rotating through the practice, some 5th year students from the RCS and others final year students doing their 4 week placement at the practice. GP registrars are heavily involved in mentoring and teaching these students.
SRMG has been established for forty (40) years. We're a fourteen (14) doctor practice and many of our doctors have special procedural interests. Trainee doctors attached to the practice find they grow in confidence, decision making and aquire many practical skills. SRMG employs four (4) Registered Nursse and has three fully equipped treatment rooms where minor procedures are carried out. SRMG is centrally located in the CBD, it is fully computerised and has skilled, supportive staff.
