Philosophy/Ethos
Our practice goal is to see an improvement in the health outcomes of our community and its individuals by promoting well-being, preventing illness and managing ill health with evidence-based medicine – all with friendly quality care.
This practice promotes a learning environment and actively participates in the teaching of medical students and GP Registrars. We aim to make the medical students and GP Registrars as welcome and supported as possible.
Demography of Patients
Hillside caters for all groups from newborn to aged care and all groups in between. The patient mix is diverse in keeping with the preference of Hillside to have a gender and age balance of GPs. There is a strong emphasis on women's health, mental health, obstetrics, general medicine, emergency medicine, paediatrics, aged care, palliative care, infectious diseases and Indigenous health.
Awards
Hillside Family Practice was awarded the WAGPET Training Practice of the Year in 2006. Dr Sam Bowden, who was the GP Registrar at Hillside for two years, recieved the GP Registrar of the Year award in 2006 during his final year at Hillside.
