Practice Philosophy

The practice is registered as a charity which was set up in early 2008 to provide health care to homeless and marginalised people. The individual is respected regardless of cultural beliefs or background. We recognise the unique challenges faced by our patients and aim to provide a service that overcomes some of the barriers they face in accessing healthcare. To do this we provide a number of different styles of clinics including mobile clinics that visit drop in centres and drug and alcohol therapeutic communities and a fixed transitional clinic that runs more like a regular General Practice for those who are moving away from the homeless lifestyle.

We recognise that the health of homeless people is characterised by multiple chronic medical conditions and comorbid psychiatric conditions. In all clinics the General Practitioner is supported by a nurse on a one to one ratio. There is a mental health nurse on staff available for further support if required. We have close relationships with the drop in centre's and drug and alcohol therapeutic communities in which we work to assist with social and housing issues.

All our staff are passionate about teaching and providing support to everyone who works with our team.
