Philosophy/Ethos
Aim to provide broad high standard of primary care while developing and adapting to community needs. Maximum support for teaching and encouragement of a positive learning environment for all training doctors and permanent doctors.
Demography of Patients
Northern Perth coastal practice with full socioeconomic range of patients. Current mean age of patients is 32 years age.
General Practitioners
Medical Practitioners are encouraged allowed to practice medicine as they wish and are comfortable. Most doctors in practice see 4 to 6 an hour but registrars in the basic level etc are firmly kept to the number of patients suitable for their level.
Practice Nurses
Most hours there are two practice nurses on most sessions but at least one nurse is present for support for all sessions. The practice nurses are a very appreciated and valuable part of our team at Whitfords Avenue Medical Group.
IT environment
Fully computerized paperless practice with Medical Director 3 and Pracsoft 3. This integrates our spirometry and ECG's in a paperless electronic format. All pathology and radiology reports are downloaded in electronic format. All specialist reports and hospital reports are scanned into the system to be part of the electronic database meaning they can be quickly and accurately assessed in the original form.
Also on our system are E-mims, Murtagh's Textbook, Dermatology Electronic Textbooks, electronic Therapeutice Guidlines, Harrisons on Line, and other electronic databases.
