Practice Staff

Dr Moya Wood
Alexander Heights Family Practice MB, BS FRACGP DCH Moya has 30 years experience in General Practice and is the practice principal. She has had a GP Registrar for the last 17 years. She is experienced in all aspects of general practice especially in Psychiatry, General Medicine, Gynecology, she ceased Obstetric Practice some years ago but does shared antenatal care. She has completed the DCH course at PMH recently. Her interests include Family Planning, Women’s health and Menopause. She is an examiner for the FRACGP exam. Moya is very enthusiastic about teaching and is keen to tailor teaching to accommodate Registrar’s needs.

Dr Salah Amedi
MB CHB AMC FRACGP Salah has worked at the practice for the last 7 years; he has a variety of special skills and is particularly skilled in the area of General Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Australian College of General Practitioners. His special interests include skin lesions and minor surgery. He speaks Arabic and his native Kurdish language as well as Turkish

Dr Heather Coventry
MB BS, DIP RACOG, FRACGP Heather has special skills in colposcopy and has a large gynecological practice. She is procedurally insured, thus giving the Registrar the opportunity to practice procedural medicine.

Dr Kristy Hogan
B. Med FRACGP Kristy has recently obtained her FRACGP and has stayed on at the practice. She has special interests in Family Planning and Women’s Health as well as General Medicine.

Philosophy/Ethos

Alexander Heights Family Practice has a philosophy of caring and efficiency in the work environment, so as to enable a high standard of health care and a pleasant and professionally satisfying environment for the patients, staff and doctors. 

The surgery is located in a large, comfortable, purpose built building adjacent to a park.  It has recently been renovated and extended.  We have on-site pathology, a Dietician and two Psychologists.  We have 3 full-time, 1 part-time doctor and 2 registrars currently.

Demography of Patients

Younger families in population, limited elderly people, middle class, private billing, admitting rights at local hospital can be arranged, but is far away.
