Kimberley Aboriginal Health Training Program
The Kimberley GP training program offers a unique and flexible learning experience across a variety of clinical settings working in multidisciplinary teams. Registrars are invited to specialise in our core focus of Aboriginal health, within a network of Aboriginal community controlled health services across the region.
These posts have protected training time, support by the KAMSC regional Medical Educator and local administrative staff. Registrars have the opportunity to practice procedural skills and to manage their own in-patients in some towns.
Places are available for GP Registrars wishing to complete Basic, Advanced, Subsequent or an Advanced Rural Skills Post in Aboriginal health.
The Kimberley Program offers Registrars the opportunity to either work in the region for only one or two terms or to undertake all their GP training within the region.
Completing a one year Advanced Rural Skills Post in Aboriginal health allows registrars to complete both the Graduate Diploma in Rural General Practice and to qualify for the FACRRM.
For more information about these posts contact Dr David Atkinson, the Medical Educator for the Kimberley GP Training Program on (08) 9193 6043 or davida@kamsc.org.au
