 About the practice

The Southern Regional Medical Group has been established for forty (40) years.  It is an eight (8) doctor practice and many of the doctors have specail procedural interests.  Doctors look after the practice patients, both within the community practice setting as well as within the hospital setting at the Albany Regional Hospital.  There is a special emphasis on Medical Eduation within the practice and both undergraduates and postgraduates are encouraged to take advantage of the wealth of experience available both through the clinical setting as well as the GP mentors in a very supportive environmnet.  Trainee doctors attached to the practice find they grow in confidence, decision making and aquire many practical skills.  SRMG employs a Registered Nurse and has a fully equipped treatment room where minor procedures are carried out.  SRMG is centrally located in the CBD, it is fully computerised and has skilled, supportive staff.

PROFILE
GP Registrar Testimonial: Dr Stuart Prosser Dr Stuart Prosser

I was attracted to rural general practise by the idea of being able to deliver complete care to my population, the old saying of from cradle to grave. The ability to undertake procedural training in Western Australia was a huge advantage as it meant that I was able to develop contacts with experienced specialists who have been able to provide support during, and in particularly post, completion of training.
