About Pioneer Health...

Pioneer Health Albany is a busy, established general practice on the beautiful south coast of WA. We are a friendly and supportive team, with six GPs, GP registrars (currently two), five practice nurses and eight administrative staff.  We practice from a large, new, purpose-designed building which is co-located with a pathology collection centre, pharmacy and counselling service.  Our focus is on providing holistic, best practice health care to our patients in a caring, professional way.

We provide a broad range of services, including all aspects of general practice, minor surgery, paediatrics, antenatal care, preventive medicine and mental health care. Our GPs have admitting rights at the Albany Regional Hospital, and there is the opportunity to provide inpatient care, emergency department cover, anaesthetics and obstetric care.

Our practice is committed to teaching, and fosters a learning culture for all team members.  We regularly host GP registrars, who have resoundingly positive learning experiences while with us: in fact, some of them have chosen to stay on a more permanent basis.  We support our registrars in their training. They are involved in our weekly practice and clinical meetings, and offered ‘open door’ access to our experienced GPs for supervision and mentoring.

Visit our practice website (link above) to see more about our practice, our location, and our team. If you are interested in a training placement at our practice, please contact Bronwyn Alley or David Tadj (contact details listed above).

PROFILE
GP Registrar Testimonial: Dr Stuart Prosser Dr Stuart Prosser

I was attracted to rural general practise by the idea of being able to deliver complete care to my population, the old saying of from cradle to grave. The ability to undertake procedural training in Western Australia was a huge advantage as it meant that I was able to develop contacts with experienced specialists who have been able to provide support during, and in particularly post, completion of training.
