Dr Sean Stevens
Sean is the primary GP Trainer at Mead Medical and is responsible for organising the in-practice teaching that is provided by all of the senior doctors and GP Trainers at Mead. Sean is also the youngest of the trainers; he is enthusiastic about teaching and is happy to tailor the teaching program to accommodate each individual Registrar’s requests. Sean is also the current Chair of the GP Supervisors Forum at WAGPET relating to IT and Diabetes. Sean is a keen cyclist, jogger and wine taster and loves spending time with his wife and young daughter.

Dr Warren Thyer
Warren is a committed GP with many years rural experience in Derby, followed by 15 years at Mead. Warren was awarded the RACGP Australian GP of the year n 2004 in recognition of his dedication to our profession. Warren has a strong interest in procedural and hospital based medicine, doing an average of 4 anaesthetic lists per week at the local hospital and having delivered in excess of 1500 babies. Warren also has a strong involvement in his local church where he runs youth mentoring groups once a week. Warren has also been a keen amateur actor, taking the lead role in some community productions.

Dr Jane Talbot
Has had an extensive involvement in teaching over her career, having been a senior lecturer at UWA Department of GP. Jane has worked in many practices in a number of states, in both rural and urban settings. Jane has extensive obstetric skills, being qualified to perform Caesarean sections and having done in excess of 1500 deliveries. Jane and Warren were the leading voices in trying to preserve the obstetric unit at our local hospital, but unfortunately this was moved to Swan Districts Hospital in April 2005. Jane is a keen aviator and diver, having both her pilot’s licence and recreational diving ticket.

Ms Dot Melkus (Practice Manager)
Dot has been practice manager at Mead Medical since late 2002, having come from a senior position in the Corporate Medical Sector. Dot has overseen significant growth in patient numbers and staff at Mead whilst maintaining a pleasant and collegiate working environment. Dot is also a National treasurer of the Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM) and was awarded the inaugural Practice Manager of the Year award in 2004 in recognition of her exceptional abilities as a practice manager.
