Regional Support

Information about the training regions, as well as the practices that are located in each region.

Regional Administration

Each region is supported by a Regional Advisory Committee which provides support for GP Registrars in the region, develops a regional education program, supports local GP Supervisors and identifies new training opportunities in the region. Local GPs and clinicians prepare and deliver the regional education sessions and documentation to support this is provided here. Information on regional education programs is in the profile for that region.

Training Regions

WAGPET delivers the GP training program across Western Australia and has divided the State into eight rural and three metropolitan regions, each of which offer GP Registrars a diversity of training experiences. Information on a region and its Training Practices is provided in each regional profile.

Community Resident Testimonial: Dr Nicholas Gray Dr Nicholas Gray

I was involved in the Community Residency Project in its pilot year, 2007, working part time in the Paediatrics Department and the remainder of the time in General Practice in the Bunbury region. I chose this term as I was particularly interested in General Practice (I am now a GP Registrar in the Northern Territory) but also wanted to keep my skills in hospital based medicine, in case I found GP was not to my liking.
