Regional Support

Information about the training regions, as well as the practices that are located in each region.

Regional Administration

Each region is supported by a Regional Advisory Committee which provides support for GP Registrars in the region, develops a regional education program, supports local GP Supervisors and identifies new training opportunities in the region. Local GPs and clinicians prepare and deliver the regional education sessions and documentation to support this is provided here. Information on regional education programs is in the profile for that region.

Training Regions

WAGPET delivers the GP training program across Western Australia and has divided the State into eight rural and three metropolitan regions, each of which offer GP Registrars a diversity of training experiences. Information on a region and its Training Practices is provided in each regional profile.

I have been involved in GP training at several levels over the years. I had great role models as trainers when I was doing my training and always hoped to be able to contribute back to the profession in that way. When I came to Perth in 1995 I was looking for a practice that was involved in teaching and was fortunate to be directed to Lockridge General Practice.
