PGPP Program Details

When you undertake this program you will rotate out of your hospital into a General Practice training post for one or more hospital rotations. At the end of your Prevocational General Practice Placement Program (PGPPP) term you will simply rotate back to your hospital.

During your PGPPP you will remain employed by your tertiary hospital and continue to be paid by the hospital, accrue leave entitlements, etc. Your medical indemnity also continues to be met by your hospital.

WAGPET recoups the Medicare billings that you generate in your general practice site for the duration of your placement, and return these to your tertiary hospital. The Medicare billings cover your salary whilst you are in general practice time.

If you undertake a rural placement, WAGPET will organise and fund travel to and from your placement (flights or mileage subsidy). You will also be able to take some personal belongings with you to enhance your stay.
