How to apply

PGPPP Applications for 2014 Open Monday 10 June 2013

The Prevocational General Practice Placement Program (PGPPP) is a high-quality prevocational training program for doctors interested in testing the waters of a career in General Practice and/or rural and remote community medicine.

The program offers a challenging hands-on experience in general practice, with or without the choice of special interest posts like paediatrics, obstetrics, surgery and emergency care; or maybe you have an interest in population health, Aboriginal health, palliative care or home hospital.

Choose from a variety of locations throughout the metropolitan area or venture out to a rural setting to experience rural community medicine for 1 or 2 hospital length terms.

Long term rural training options, which incorporate a PGPPP component are also available through the Rural Practice Pathway (RPP). RMO's can apply for a full year position with WA Country Health Service (WACHS) in a number of rural locations, including Bunbury, Broome, Geraldton and Albany.

Eligibility

  • You must have full medical board registration
  • On commencement of the PGPPP you must be at least Post Graduate Year 2 (apply in your intern year)
  • Overseas Trained Doctors are eligible once full general medical board registration has been granted
  • Eligible applicants will be required to attend an interview and will be notified by email.

If you need to clarify any aspect of the program or have any questions, please contact a member of the Prevocational Team.

Applications for the 2014 PGPP Program will be open from Monday 10 June 2013 to Friday 12 July 2013. Application Forms will be available via the Wagpet website.
