PGPPP Allowances and subsidies
Whilst undertaking a Prevocational General Practice Placement Program (PGPPP) placement, WAGPET will provide (for rural posts only):
Rural Placements Travel / Relocation
Doctors in Training relocating to rural posts will be flown to their destination unless otherwise agreed, to undertake their placement. You may have the option to drive otherwise all travel will occur via air.
You will be required to remain in Perth to attend the mandatory WAGPET orientation held on the Monday and Tuesday of the first week of term. Travel arrangements to relocate are to be made for the Wednesday morning immediately following orientation.
1. Fly - WAGPET will arrange flights both to and from your placement. Air travel will be economy class only. Once booked and confirmed, any changes to travel arrangements will be at the direct expense of the Doctor in Training in accordance with the WAGPET Travel and Accommodation Reimbursement Policy 3.1.06 . Travel will be arranged by WAGPET upon return of a completed Travel Request Form.
2. Drive - Should you prefer to use your own vehicle instead of using air travel, permission must be gained from the Prevocational Coordinator. WAGPET will reimburse kilometres at the current Australian Taxation Office mileage rates up to the value of the economy class air fare only, in accordance with the WAGPET Travel and Accommodation Reimbursement Policy 3.1.06. Accommodation* and meal expenses will not be covered.
If you are participating in a Rural Practice Pathway (RPP), incorporating a PGPPP rotation/s and have already relocated as part of your employment contract with WACHS, WAGPET will arrange return travel to Perth to attend the mandatory 2 day Orientation.
*excludes travel to Carnarvon (Doctors in Training are required to drive to Carnarvon and over night accommodation is provided)
Accommodation is provided for Doctors in Training undertaking a rural placement who are required to relocate to undertake their placement.
Accommodation for those employed with WACHS as part of the RPP, a small weekly fee may apply.
