RACGP WA Award Winners
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has announced the state winners of this year’s awards.
Canning Vale Medical Centre was awarded the WA 2017 General Practice of the Year for their approach to patient health and wellbeing, exemplary service and quality of care provided to patients, health promotion initiatives and the practice’s involvement in general practice teaching.
Midland GP Dr Harinder Paul was awarded the WA 2017 General Practitioner Supervisor of the Year. Dr Paul was nominated by WA General Practice Education and Training (WAGPET) for his significant contribution towards the training and mentoring of WAGPET GP registrars.
Dr Sarah Newman was awarded the WA 2017 General Practitioner Registrar of the Year for her strong commitment to learning and the GP profession, and for the high-quality care she provides for her patients. Dr Newman was nominated by WA General Practice Education and Training (WAGPET) and described as a GP registrar who has a passion for the vocation of general practice.
Dr David Oldham was awarded the WA 2017 General Practitioner of the Year for his provision of excellent healthcare. This award recognises outstanding commitment to the general practice profession, significant involvement in training and continued professional development.
WAGPET is very pleased for each of the winners, each deserving of their award for the high-quality care they provide for people across Western Australia.
The WA winners will go into the national finals and will be announced at RACGP’s GP17 conference in Sydney later this year.
