The Health Workforce Scholarship Program enables medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals to apply for scholarships and bursaries.
The Health Workforce Scholarship Program, an initiative of the Australian Goverment Department of Health, provides support to health professionals in rural, regional and remote Australia to develop their skills, capacity and scope of practice. The program is designed to improve access to health services in rural areas of Australia.
Medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals can apply for the grants for the following:
- undertaking further post-graduate study
- development and upskilling courses
- one-off payments to cover the cost of training or course fees and/or to cover or partially cover some training-related expenses such as accommodation and transport, where appropriate.
Applications for round one now open and will close on Wednesday, 20 December 2017. Visit the Rural Health West website to apply or for more information.
