Ensuring Australia’s GPs are trained to world’s best practice

WAGPET is one of nine regional training organisations, providing GP training in Australia.

WAGPET is pleased to be part of the Regional Training Organisation (RTO) Network, a collective of nine regional training organisations that train and equip the current and next generation of GPs in Australia. Together, we provide effective workforce distribution by placing GP registrars throughout Australia’s cities and rural and remote towns and communities.

Our GP Registrars become Fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).

The RTO Network is training 5,170 GP registrars in 3,516 accredited GP practices. GP registrars Australia-wide are being trained by 5,549 accredited GP supervisors and 383 expert medical educators.  It’s WAGPET’s privilege to be the sole general practice RTO, delivering the Australia General Practice Training Program, in Western Australia.
