2008 WAGPET Awards
Each year WAGPET calls for nominations for awards of excellence in general practice training.
Who can nominate?
Nominations can come from anyone involved in the training program for either a Training Practice or a GP Registrar who has shown a level of commitment to GP training which sets them apart from others.

Closing date: 24 October 2008
GP Registrar of the Year Criteria
The criteria which WAGPET looks for in recognising the GP Registrar of the Year include:
- excellence in general practice education
- quality of care provided to patients
- commitment to patients and the wider community

Training Practice of the Year Criteria
For the Training Practice of the Year Award the following aspects of training support are considered:
- the availability of the GP Supervisors, both for corridor consultation and formal teaching
- the quality of the teaching provided – both formal and informal
- the support given to the GP Registrar by all members of the Training Practice - both medical and non-medical
- the commitment of practice staff to GP Registrar training

Judging process
Nominations received are collated using the award nominations comparison matrix and all WAGPET Managers and Education Consultants review the nominations with winners identified from overall rankings awarded from this group.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded in the following sections:
- short-listed Training Practices
- short-listed GP Registrars
- Training Practice of the Year*
- GP Registrar of the Year*
*In addition to the section prize, the winner’s name will be added to the WAGPET Honour Board.
