Working with our Peers

WAGPET is skilled at drawing together and forming partnerships with relevant organisations. Recent examples of successful collaborations include:

  • The GP Stakeholders Group: we work with seven organisations to recruit high calibre doctors to General Practice.
  • Department of Health WA and the Federal Department of Health and Ageing: developing and implementing the Community Residency Prevocational Program.
  • Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service Council Inc: a partnership approach to Indigenous health training for general practice in the Kimberley region.
  • WA Country Health Service, Rural Health West and the Rural Clinical School – the Rural Training Collaborative working towards increasing training opportunities in rural hospitals.
  • Australian Medical Association WA: On-entrance Assessment for Outer Metropolitan overseas trained doctors.
  • Rural Health West, Rural Workforce Taskforce: to identify medical workforce trends in rural Western Australia and to ensure that training posts are developed in areas of need.
