Welcome to New Staff at WAGPET
WAGPET welcomes in 2012 with the addition three new Medical Educators to assist our GP registrars with their training. Please join us in welcoming Drs Kaye Atkinson, Sarah Booker and Sandie Dobney to the team along with Edina Parkes and Marko Vukadinovic as Administration/Development Officer and Finance Office.
Dr Kaye Atkinson:
My name is Kaye Atkinson and I am a general practitioner and medical educator. I am an 'easterner' (having been based in Victoria) who has recognised the attractions of the West. I am delighted to be part of the WAGPET family and look forward to meeting as many WAGPET family members as possible. I have worked in medical education for many years and have seen many changes. What has remained constant is the passion and commitment of this profession towards building for the future. The GP registrars, PGPPP doctors and students of today become the general practitioners of the future and I know that we are in good hands.
Dr Sarah Booker:
I completed my GP training through WAGPET and am excited about joining WAGPET as a Medical Educator. I currently work in general practice in Midland and have previously experienced rural general practice in Albany. I am also a mum with a 5 month old son called Oscar. I am looking forward to providing teaching and support to junior doctors entering the profession of general practice.
Dr Sandie Dobney:
I am delighted to join WAGPET as a Medical Educator. Whilst working in general practice I have appreciated the experience of being a supervisor for registrars and medical students. I look forward to increasing this teaching role and partnering with registrars on their journey.
My general practice journey began in the UK where I worked in both group practices and as relief in a solo practice. In Perth I have been mainly based in Outer Metro practices and am currently enjoying some GP after hours work.
Ms Edina Parkes:
Edina (Edi) will be the first port of call for most enquires to WAGPET, managing reception as well as providing administrative support to both Corporate Services and the Development teams. Edi has an extensive background in finance and administration support in the IT industry where she worked for 5 years prior to taking some time out from work to travel. Edi’s interests included health and wellbeing, board sports, travel, music and personal development. Edi considers herself a bit of a comedienne and hopes to bring fun and humour to the office.
Mr Marko Vukadinovic:
Marko takes on the role of Finance Officer and comes to us as a recent graduate from Curtin University finishing a Masters of Accounting and also a Bachelor of Commerce. Marko is responsible for our Accounts Payable and would be happy to assist with any finance related enquiries.
