Registrar Advisory Group 2012

WAGPET Is delighted to welcome Dr Penny Wilson as the 2012 Chair of the Registrar Advisory Group (RAG), replacing Dr Heather Brand who contributed her intellectual rigour and passion to the work of the group over the past year.
Penny is currently undertaking her final GP training term as a subsequent registrar at Lindisfarne Medical Group. Prior to commencing her GP placements, she attained the Advanced DRANZCOG and now enjoys doing procedural obstetrics at Bentley Hospital on her days off from general practice. In addition to her role on the RAG committee, Penny represents GP registrars on the RACGP WA faculty board and the AMA WA Doctors In Training Committee. She enjoys mentoring and teaching junior colleagues and has a passion for promoting GP to the next generation of doctors. In 2011, she helped to bring a new event to the WAGPET social calendar with the first ever GP Registrar Ball. In 2012, she hopes to be able to contribute to the continuing evolution and improvement of GP training in WA.

Outside work, Penny enjoys relaxing with a good book, travelling or escaping into the great outdoors when she is not playing violin in the Australia Doctors' Orchestra.  As for the future, she is looking forward to finishing her exams and pursuing the next stage of her career as a rural GP obstetrician.
